Advancing Research, Building Connections
The Boston College 2nd PhD Conference brings together doctoral students in economics. This conference is an opportunity to present and discuss doctoral research projects with other students who share similar research interests. If selected, you will present your paper, and can also be discussant for another student's paper. Please note that presenters are expected to attend all sessions.
We encourage students from all fields and programs to submit a research paper. This conference offers a valuable opportunity for students in the early stages of their PhD dissertation, as well as those close to completion.
Professor James Anderson will join us as keynote speaker, sharing insights from his research trajectory and his vision on the current state of research in international trade policy. More information about Prof. Anderson is provided below.
Please note that the conference is unable to provide reimbursement for travel expenses or accommodation. We encourage participants to make their own arrangements and explore nearby lodging options in the Chestnut Hill and Boston area.
Students can submit a full draft, or an extended abstract (500-1000 words). Priority, however, will be given to full drafts.
Papers can be submitted through the following link.
Submission deadline: March 7, 2026
